IIM Mumbai has successfully concluded its 2025 placement drive, announcing a remarkable 100% placement rate for the graduating batch. The institute reported a highest salary package of ₹47.5 LPA. Demonstrating a positive trend, job offers this year saw an increase of over 10% compared to the previous year, accompanied by a 5% growth in the average salary. A total of 198 companies actively participated in the placement process.
Delving into the salary statistics, the top 10% of students secured an average salary of ₹47.5 LPA. This was closely followed by the top 20% of candidates, who achieved an average of ₹41.2 LPA, while the top 50% of students recorded an average salary of ₹34.1 LPA.
Sector-wise analysis revealed significant growth areas. The pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors experienced a substantial 130% surge in job offers for new talent, reflecting their dynamic expansion. Retail and e-commerce sectors recorded the most significant increase in hiring, rising by 47.73%. Consulting firms also demonstrated strong recruitment activity, hiring 28.92% more students compared to the previous year.
Among the participating companies, Accenture emerged as the most prolific recruiter, extending offers to 41 employees with an average salary of ₹45.37 LPA. Other prominent recruiters contributing to the successful drive included PwC India, making 18 offers, and PwC US Advisory, with 10 offers. Additional key recruiters were Vodafone Idea, Workday, OfBusiness, ZS, Alvarez & Marsal, and Praxis Global Alliance.
Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, conveyed his pride regarding the students’ accomplishments. He attributed this success to the seamless transition of students to the IIM Mumbai campus and the institute’s robust industry connections. Furthermore, Prof. Tiwari emphasized that the 100% placement rate stands as a clear testament to the collective efforts of the students, faculty, and corporate partners. It is worth noting that IIM Mumbai was formerly recognized as the National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering (NITIE). The institution officially became India’s 21st IIM in 2023 following the passage of a bill in Parliament. Looking ahead, the institute plans to introduce new courses in urban logistics, infrastructure management, and public policy in the near future. Additionally, IIM Mumbai intends to launch short-term, industry-specific programs designed to meet corporate training requirements.
